What inspired you to pursue the IDA Master program?
Being able to learn and do research for my own interests and passions
What motivates you to pursue this field of study, and what personal significance or purpose do you find in it?
I always wish to contribute to the collective understanding of the human existence, and academic research is the best way to go.
Which field do you see yourself pursuing after completing the program?
Academia, and another degree in philosophy
Do you ever feel stressed or under pressure in your studies? How do you manage those challenges? Any tips to share?
Yes, of course. One thing really always help me when I am under stress, is always to learn how to shift the perceptions on the things that is stressing me out. As Epictetus once said, it is not things that disturb us, but our interpretation of them. It is also good to not dwell long on the problems you are facing, but rather focus energy on solutions. There’s always a way.
What motivates you to keep going when things get tough?
I think about the potentials and my futures, I like to envision things like important published papers with my names on it being influential and educational, and that I will become whom I want to be if I keep going and doing things right. Knowing the vision is something I want to be 100% committed to and to see it in fruition is how I fuel my energy.
What do you enjoy most about collaborating with your peers, supervisors, or being part of the IDA community?
I love the mechanisms with IDA professors being our supervisors on our research projects, because there is always so much to learn from each conversations, and you get to see the professors’ own interests, and see how everyone talks about their passions with sparkles in the eyes, it is very motivating.
How would you describe an “IDA student”? What common qualities do they share, and who do you think is best suited for this program?
Nerdy in a good way, that everyone has their niche passion. I can see those who fit into the program the best is those who love challenges and knowing being challenged would not get to their spirits.
Is there anything you wish you had known before starting that would have made your journey smoother, and what advice (or tip) would you give to someone just beginning the program?
That the starting semester is quite harsh mentally and academically for people who just moved countries for this program, and I would really advice for everyone to always look for and become an important support for the community
