End of Year Conference 2025

During the course First Year Paper, students learn how to apply theoretical models and physiological assessments learnt in the first semester to generate research questions and hypotheses. Students present their First Year Paper during the End of Year Conference. During a 10-minute presentation, students explain the theoretical background of their research questions and hypotheses, their study design, and the analyses that were performed. They also report the results and explain the conclusion of their First Year Paper. In addition, they should critically reflect on their findings (discuss strengths, limitations, and implications) and answer questions from the audience during the 5-minute discussion after each presentation.

On the 2nd of June 2025, the 2024-2026 cohort held their End of Year Conference, in which each student presented their First Year Paper. With three sets of presentations and breaks in between, the event ran from 13:00 to 17:00. Future and current students, alumni, and IDA teachers and staff attended the conference, which offered everyone a change to see the First Year Students’ work of the past year.

A wide range of topic were presented, ranging from self-concept clarity, attachment styles, and sexual orientation, to machine learning and climate anxiety.

A big thank you to all supervisors, academic director Yvonne and course coordinator Meeke for organizing this event and supporting the students in their research.

The day ended with some drinks and snacks, happily celebrating each successful presentations, as the students were getting closer and closer to the end of a challenging yet fulfilling academic year.
