Our student Evy has received a grant to go and conduct research at Yale University!
Every year the Dutch heart foundation gives out grants for both clinical and non-clinical master students to visit an institution abroad to conduct research in the field of cardiovascular research. The grant aims to stimulate an interest for cardiovascular research in promising students and future scientists. Yearly, one non-clinical grant is rewarded to a student of Tilburg University. I have been rewarded with this grant, called the student ‘dekkerbeurs’ from de Nederlandse Hartstichting, which is 3000 euro’s.
I will be using this conduct cardiovascular research, focussing on peripheral vascular events, at the Vascular Outcomes Program at the Yale School of Medicine (VAMOS) in the United States together with dr. Kim Smolderen, co-director of VAMOS.
