Why did you decide to do the IDA Master?
I’m interested in research and am doubting on maybe doing a PhD. Also, I liked the challenge the research master would probably give me.
Looking at the program schedule, which course excites you the most and why?
Psychometrics – because I really liked the course that touched on this in the bachelor.
Do you experience stress/pressure in your studies? How do you deal with it?
Yes, these first three weeks have been challenging/stressful because I had to get used to the amount of work and I’m doubting whether I will be able to combine two master’s and work. I deal with it by talking about it with other students or friends. Also, it helps to take my mind of things by doing fun activities or working.
How can your knowledge from the IDA Master be useful for the real world?
I feel like it would be useful if I were to do a PhD, the statistical knowledge will definitely be helpful then. Also, IDA teaches you to be critical (for example when reading scientific articles). This skill is helpful in every future career.
Why do you think it is important to study what you study?
Because what we study can help people and/or move science forward.
What motivates you to keep studying?
I want to be able to feel proud of myself, and I think finishing this master’s will make me very proud. Also, all the things we learn and the prospective of all the things I will be learning in the next few years definitely make me want to continue.
How are you experiencing the relationship with your teachers?
Very good. They are all very helpful and want you to succeed.
